锄禾日当午,Hoeing millet in mid-day heat,
汗滴禾下土.Sweat dripping to the earth beneath:
谁知盘中餐,Do you know the food on your plate,
粒粒皆辛苦.Each grain was hard-earned, mate?

秋收万颗子.A harvest is reaped in autumn.
四海无闲田,No land has been lying fallow.
农夫犹饿死.Yet peasants still have to borrow, or starve.
